Add shapes, lines, frames, icons, photos and text styles

The left rail holds what you add by hand. Elements has shapes (rectangles, circles, blobs, badges), lines and arrows, frames that mask a photo into a shape, a library of icons, and a photo search backed by free stock. Text has heading, subheading and body presets plus curated font combinations. Uploads keeps your own pictures.
Everything drops onto the canvas as a normal element: drag to place, handles to resize, the context toolbar to style. Nothing here calls an AI, so it is instant and free.
How to do it
Open Elements
Click Elements in the left rail. Use the search box to filter shapes, icons and photos by name, or browse the sections.
Add a shape, line or frame
Click an item to add it to the current page, then drag it into place. Frames are photo masks: drop a picture onto a frame and it is clipped to the shape; drag inside the frame to reposition, or use zoom in the context toolbar.
Add an icon
Icons are vector and recolourable: pick one, then set its fill from the context toolbar. They export as vector and follow Brand recolour.
Add a photo
Search the photo section for a subject; results are free stock photos with attribution handled. Or use Uploads for your own files, which stay in your library for later designs.
Add text
Open Text and click “Add a heading”, “Add a subheading” or “Add a little body text”, or pick a font combination to apply a heading and body pairing to the design. Double-click to type; the context toolbar has font, size, weight, colour, spacing, alignment, effects and Curve.
Tips
- Hold ⇧ while resizing to keep a shape’s proportions; hold ⌥ to resize from the centre.
- Frames plus Remove background make a product tile in three clicks.
- Font combinations are safe pairings; apply one and adjust sizes rather than choosing fonts one by one.
- Paste an image from the clipboard straight onto the canvas; it lands as an element.
Frequently asked questions
- Are stock photos free to use commercially?
- Yes. The photo search uses a free stock library with a licence that allows commercial use; attribution is stored with the design where the source requires it.
- Can I upload my own icons or SVG files?
- Yes. SVG uploads stay vector and can be recoloured; PNG uploads are treated as pictures.
- Where did the AI component generator go?
- The panel is a library on purpose — fewer, clearer tools. Use Refine (“add a price badge here”) when you want something composed for you.
