Animate a design and export it as GIF or MP4
Updated 2026-09-04
Any static design can become motion. Animate adds an entrance and exit to each element, a transition between pages, and a duration per page, then renders the whole thing as GIF or MP4. Morph is the signature transition: elements that exist on both pages glide into their new place, size and colour instead of cutting.
A one-page design becomes a looping animated post; a multi-page design becomes a short video with scenes.
How to do it
Open Animate
Click “Animate” in the dock at the bottom of the editor. The timeline and transport appear, and the inspector switches to motion settings.
Animate elements
Select an element and pick an entrance and an exit in the Motion panel, or apply a preset to the whole page. Delays and durations are adjustable; the preview plays as you change them.
Set page transitions and timing
For multi-page designs, choose a transition per page — none, fade, slide, dissolve or morph — and set the scene duration in seconds.
Preview
Use the transport to play, scrub and loop. What you see is what renders.
Export GIF or MP4
Click Export GIF for a looping animation (social, chat, email) or Export video for an MP4 (reels, ads, digital signage). Rendering runs in the background; download when it finishes.
Tips
- Keep element ids stable across pages — duplicate a page and edit it — so Morph knows what to tween.
- Two to four seconds a page reads well for social; longer for signage.
- Turn a video clip into an ad: upload footage from the start screen and Studio dresses it with text and a call to action.
Frequently asked questions
- What sizes can I export?
- The video is the page size; use the size picker to pick a format such as Story/Reel 1080×1920 before animating. Even dimensions render most reliably.
- Can I add music or voice?
- Not yet. Exported MP4s are silent so you can add audio in your video tool or the platform’s editor.
- Why is GIF larger than MP4?
- GIF stores every frame as an image and supports only 256 colours per frame. Use MP4 wherever the destination accepts video.
