Set up a brand kit so every design starts on brand

A brand kit is the short list of things that make a design yours: a primary colour and a few supporting ones, a heading font and a body font, your logo files and a sentence about how you sound. Studio keeps them in the Brand panel and applies them wherever it composes something.
You can keep more than one kit — a client each, or a product line each — and switch between them. Pulling colours from an existing design is one click, so a kit can be started from a design you already like.
How to do it
Open the Brand panel
Click Brand in the left rail (or the “Brand kit” button on the start screen). The panel shows your current brand, or a blank one the first time.
Add your colours
Click + to add a colour and use the picker or paste a hex code. The first swatch is your primary colour. “Pull from current design” adds the distinct colours of the open design in one click.
Choose fonts
Set a heading font and a body font by name — any Google font works. Leave a field empty to let Studio choose a pairing that suits each design.
Add logos and voice
Paste a logo URL or upload logo files so “Add photo/logo” and generation can place them. Write a line about your voice (“warm, plain, no exclamation marks”) and the copy follows it.
Save, and turn on “Use my brand”
Click “Save brand kit”. The “Use my brand” checkbox next to the refine bar turns on, and from now on generation and refine use the kit. Untick it for a one-off design that should not follow the brand.
Keep several brands
Use the brand switcher at the top of the panel to create another kit or pick one. The active kit is the one “Use my brand” applies.
Tips
- Three to five colours is plenty: a dark, a light, one or two accents. Long palettes make recolouring vaguer.
- Put the real logo file in the kit, not a screenshot of it; PNG with transparency or SVG prints best.
- A brand voice line changes headlines and body copy more than most people expect. Try “short, confident, never salesy”.
- Existing designs don’t change when you save a kit; apply it to one with Brand recolour.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the kit change designs I already made?
- No. Saving a kit affects new generations and refines. To move an existing design onto the kit, open the Brand panel with the design open and use “Recolour the design to these colours”.
- Can I use a font that isn’t on Google Fonts?
- Type the family name and Studio uses it if the browser has it; otherwise it falls back to the closest available font. Uploading custom font files is planned.
- Is my brand kit shared with my team?
- Kits are per account today. Share the design itself with an editable link so a colleague can work with the same colours and fonts.
