Use Ridvay in Claude: make and edit designs from a conversation

Updated 2026-10-09

Ask Claude for a flyer, a social post, a carousel or a menu and get a real, editable Ridvay design back, saved in your Ridvay account. Claude writes the design — layout, text, colours and fonts — and Ridvay saves it, shows it in the chat as a card with a preview, renders it to PNG or JPEG and shares it. Keep editing by talking to Claude, or open the design in Ridvay Studio and edit it by hand.

Through this connector Ridvay runs no AI of its own: Claude composes every design, and Ridvay stores, renders and shares it. Pictures come from links you give Claude, your brand kit logos, or Ridvay’s catalogue of icons and vectors.

Ridvay is not listed in Claude’s Connectors directory yet, so you add it by its address as a custom connector: https://mcp.ridvay.com/claude/mcp.

How to do it

  1. Add Ridvay as a custom connector

In claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, go to Customize › Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Name it Ridvay and paste https://mcp.ridvay.com/claude/mcp as the server URL, exactly as written, with no slash at the end. Claude detects Ridvay’s sign-in by itself. If the dialog asks how people connect, choose Sign in now for Authentication and Use Claude’s published identity for OAuth client; leave everything else as it is. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it under Organization settings › Connectors, and each member then connects.

  2. Sign in to Ridvay and approve

Claude opens Ridvay’s sign-in page (the desktop app opens it in your browser). Sign in, or create an account, and Ridvay asks “Connect Claude (claude.ai) to Ridvay?” and lists what Claude may do: create and edit designs in your account, export and share those designs, and read your designs and brand kits. Approve, and you are sent back to Claude.

  3. Turn Ridvay on in a chat and ask for a design

In a conversation, select + › Connectors and check that Ridvay is switched on. Then ask in your own words, for example “Make a flyer for our bakery’s Saturday market, warm colours, address at the bottom”. Claude composes the design, following Ridvay’s design guide, and saves it to your account as a private design.

  4. Allow the tool calls

Claude asks before it uses a Ridvay tool. Choose Allow once, or Always allow to stop being asked for that tool. You can change this for each tool later under Customize › Connectors › Ridvay › Tool permissions.

  5. Check the design card and open it in Ridvay

In claude.ai the design appears as a card with its title, version, number of pages and a preview of the first page. Ridvay draws the preview in the background, which can take a few minutes: a new design shows “Preparing the preview…”, and after an edit the card keeps the previous preview, marked “Updating preview…”, until the new one is ready. Open in Ridvay opens the design in Ridvay Studio once you confirm the external link; it works in a browser where you are signed in to the same Ridvay account. Claude also receives the design’s edit link, so you can ask for it.

  6. Keep editing, export and share

Ask for changes by name (“on my bakery flyer, change the date to 14 June”), more pages (“turn it into a 5-slide carousel”), a file (“export page 1 as a PNG”) or a link (“share it and give me the link”). Ridvay keeps earlier versions you can restore in Ridvay Studio (edits within ten minutes of each other are merged into one version). If you changed the design in Ridvay in the meantime, Claude is told and reads the latest version before editing.

Tips

  • Try: “Use my brand kit and make a square Instagram post for our open day on 12 June.” Claude reads your brand kit’s colours, fonts and logos.
  • Try: “Add this photo as the background: https://example.com/team.jpg”. The link must be a public https address of a PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF file; a picture attached to the chat cannot be passed to Ridvay.
  • Try: “Find my summer menu and export every page as a PNG.” Claude finds designs by title, including ones you made on ridvay.com, and exports one page per file.
  • Try: “Share the open day flyer and give me the link.” You get a view page, a link that opens an editable copy, a live image and a full-screen view for a TV; “make it private again” turns sharing off.
  • For a print-ready PDF with bleed, an animation or a video, open the design in Ridvay Studio: the connector exports PNG and JPEG.

Frequently asked questions

Does Ridvay use AI on the designs Claude makes?
No. Through this connector Ridvay runs no AI of its own: Claude composes and edits the design, and Ridvay saves, renders, exports and shares it. Pictures come from links you give, your brand kit logos or Ridvay’s icon and vector catalogue, never from an image prompt.
What are the limits?
Claude can add up to 5 new pictures a day to your Ridvay account, counted together with pictures added through Ridvay in ChatGPT; adding the same picture again within 30 days does not count. Exports have a daily limit too, also shared with Ridvay in ChatGPT. Both limits are per Ridvay account and reset at midnight UTC; when you reach one, Claude is told the limit and when it resets. Exports are PNG or JPEG, one page at a time; there is no video or PDF export through Claude.
Can I use a photo I attached to the chat?
No. Ridvay only receives what Claude passes to its tools, and files attached to the conversation are not among them. Give Claude a public https link to the picture (PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF, up to 15 MB): Ridvay fetches it once and stores its own copy in your account, with location and camera data removed.
What does Ridvay receive, and what does Claude get back?
Ridvay receives only what Claude sends to its tools, such as the design it wrote, design ids, values for a living design and picture links; your conversation as a whole is not sent to Ridvay. Claude, and so Anthropic, receives what Ridvay sends back: for example the full content of the designs it opens, including ones you made on ridvay.com, your brand kit’s colours, fonts and logo links, and links to stored pictures, exported files and previews. Those file links are hard to guess but not protected by a sign-in, so anyone who has one can open the file, even for a design you have not shared. The privacy policy, linked below, has the details.
Are these designs used to train AI?
Ridvay never uses designs that Claude creates or edits through this connector, or copies made from them, to train, fine-tune or evaluate Ridvay’s AI models. What Anthropic does with your Claude conversations is covered by Anthropic’s own terms and privacy policy, and by your settings in Claude.
Can Claude delete my designs?
No. Claude can create, read, edit, export and share designs, and read your brand kits, but deleting is only possible on ridvay.com under My designs. To go back, restore an earlier version from Version history in Ridvay Studio. Edits made within ten minutes of each other, by Claude or by you, are kept as one version, so the state just before a quick change may not be there; the last 60 versions of each design are kept.
How do I disconnect Ridvay from Claude?
In Claude, open Customize › Connectors, select Ridvay and choose Disconnect, or Remove from the three-dot menu. To end access on Ridvay’s side as well, delete the key named “Claude (OAuth)” on your API keys page at ridvay.com/user/api-keys; Claude loses access straight away. If you also connected Claude to the general Ridvay MCP server, that key has the same name: delete all “Claude (OAuth)” keys and reconnect the ones you still use. Your designs stay in your Ridvay account.
Claude says the Ridvay connection is no longer valid. What now?
This usually means the key Claude holds was deleted, for example on the API keys page. Open Customize › Connectors, select Reconnect next to Ridvay and sign in again. Each reconnect creates a new “Claude (OAuth)” key, so delete the ones you no longer use.
Why is the card’s preview missing or out of date?
Ridvay draws the preview in the background after each change, which can take a few minutes. A new design shows “Preparing the preview…”; after an edit the card keeps the previous preview, marked “Updating preview…”, and checks again for a few minutes. If the new preview is not ready by then, the card says “Preview may be out of date”. The design is already saved: Open in Ridvay always shows the current version, and the card previews only the first page.
Does it work in the desktop and mobile apps and in Claude Code?
A connector you add on claude.ai or in the desktop app is available in your conversations on the web, desktop and mobile, and in Claude Code when you sign in with the same Claude account. Where an app does not show the design card, Claude can still give you the design’s edit link.
How is this different from the Ridvay MCP server?
The Claude connector (https://mcp.ridvay.com/claude/mcp) is made for Claude: a focused set of design tools, the design card and no Ridvay AI. The general Ridvay MCP server (https://mcp.ridvay.com/mcp) works with any MCP client, including coding agents, and also has tools where Ridvay’s own AI generates and refines designs.
Is Ridvay made by Anthropic?
No. Ridvay is built and run by Ridvay SIA; Claude is Anthropic’s AI assistant. The Ridvay connector is a standard MCP connector that you add to your own Claude account and can remove at any time.
